Review :Barry M Gelly Polishes

Schools out which means nail polishes are back in so I took a trip to Boots as soon as I finished to refresh my collection. When it comes to nail polishes I don't like to spend to much as there is plenty of amazing polishes to be found at the drugstore.
The Barry M Gelly Polishes have received quite a lot of hype within the blogosphere in recent months. They come in a gorgeous shade range with plenty of fun, bright colours-perfect for summer! They are currently on 2 for €10 in Boots so I picked up 4.
The formula of these is quite thick and very glossy. The finish does resemble gel nails. However a very big downside to these polishes is the brush.
As with all the Barry M polishes the brush is the standard thin brush, I find the thick wide brushes to be much more effective as you can just swipe the whole nail in one go . This means that because of the thick formula the polish can sometimes streak. I also recommend waiting slightly longer between coats to avoid streaks. You will need to apply at least 2 coats to get a relatively streak-free finish. For the lighter shades, I would say you need 3 coats. These polishes last very well, I wore the shade Rose Hip for 3 days (and a night!) without any base or top coat and it barely chipped at all which is good for me as my nails chip very easily.

From left to right; Guava, Sugared Apple, Pink Punch, Rose Hip with one coat
The shade I have are Pink Punch (bright hot pink) ,Guava (turquoise) ,Rose Hip (very pale pink) and Sugared Apple (pastel green).
As you can see in the photo the lighter shades are quite streaky, but with 3 coats they are perfect.
You can get away with just 2 coats for the darker shades.

With two coats.

The Barry M polishes in general are a great affordable option for nail polish and come in an amazing color selection. They are available here. They retail for €5.99 and are currently on offer for 2 for €10.
